Spring brings us blossoms, pollen (achoo!), and bugs. Look at what I found today on a French Door, boring a large hole into the wood. The Carpenter Bee isn't interested is stinging you. This bee is looking for decayed or soft unfinished wood. She can drill a hole a 1/2 inch in diameter with saw dust flying. This Carpenter Bee had it's head buried in the wood, and didn't notice my camera flash. A fresh coat of paint or varnish will send this bee packing. Time to get to … [Read more...]
